1995–1999: The Beginning
1995: While most were still skeptical about the internet, Jörn Weber already recognized the potential of digital investigations. As a Senior Detective Chief Inspector with North Rhine-Westphalia State Police, he created the first German police website – a milestone that established his pioneering role in digital investigative work.
Nearly 20 years of law enforcement experience taught him investigation methods for the digital age, and he recognized early on: The future of investigative work lies on the internet.
1999: The Foundation
In 1999, Jörn Weber took the leap: founding corma GmbH. His vision: Making professional investigative methods from law enforcement available to business. What was uncharted territory back then – online investigations, internet research, digital evidence collection – is standard practice today.
From day one, one principle stood at the center: “Never wonder, always know.” No guessing, only facts. No trial-and-error approaches, but structured, reproducible methods.
2000–2010: Growth & Development
In the following years, corma became the go-to destination for companies needing professional online investigations. While others were still experimenting with Google searches, corma was already deploying systematic OSINT methods, professional tools, and forensic documentation.
The trust of leading companies was the ultimate validation: DAX corporations, international technology companies, premium automotive manufacturers – they all recognized the value of real investigative expertise.
2010–Today
Today, more than 35 years after the first digital investigations and 25+ years of corma, we are the leading provider of corporate investigations, OSINT, and digital protection in Germany. Our team has handled thousands of cases, for law enforcement agencies as well as Fortune 100 corporations.
